Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away or become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already. —
Who is this Buddhist nun who is showing up on Oprah and Bill Moyers, and in the preaching and teaching of Ed Bacon and Greg Boyle? Join an interfaith conversation with Caitlyn Conlin and Christina Honchell about the teaching of Pema Chodron and her attraction for Buddhists and Christians alike.
Caitlyn Conlin is a student in the Gelugpa lineage, the lineage of the Dalai Lamas in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. She is the Arts Curriculum Coordinator at the Mahasukha Center in Los Angeles, a meditation teacher, an actress, musician and interdisciplinary artist. Her cousin, Christina Honchell, is the Administrator at All Saints Church and a newly enthusiastic inquirer into the ways that Pema’s teaching can inform our Christian practices and prayer. The event will include a group meditation based on her practice.
Sunday, May 10 in The Guild Room, 10:15 am
All Saints Church, 132 North Euclid, Pasadena CA 91101
