Advent Meditation: December 8

In my home a framed copy of a print by Corita Kent says “So far, the crocuses have always come up.”

crocusIt reminds me of one spring in Denver. I was in the 4th grade. The crocuses outside my house had bloomed. The next day, it snowed. Seeing those purple, white and yellow blossoms peeking through the cold white blanket gave me hope.

That image still gives me hope, even as terrorists are discovered closer to home.
