Over 515 coats have already been given to organizations actively working with the homeless (PUSD Families in Transition, the Bad Weather Shelter and LA Catholic Worker), thanks to the 2015 All Saints Church coat drive.
That means our coat drive collected more than 800 coats and sweaters for those in need, truly turning “sin coats” into “compassion coats” — outward and visible signs of God’s love, care and compassion for our brothers and sisters most on the margins in our communities.
There are many stories of generosity represented in these truck loads and van loads of donations — for example the eighty … yes 80! … coats donated by residents of Pilgrim Place: the Senior Community in Claremont that is home to a number of All Saints parishioners, including the Reverend Tom Hubbard who delivered them to the All Saints office the last week of December.
Thanks to ALL who participated by donating, organizing and networking to make this drive so successful.
