According to Ed Bacon, “Mark Nepo is one of our national treasures. That is because Mark inhabits that rare and beautiful consciousness that enables him to express the language of the soul. The words and energy flowing from the font of his heart not only make our lives more beautiful but heal us.” And so we are delighted to welcome him back to All Saints Church to begin the Easter Season with an evening of reflection and inspiration.
Author of twelve books and six audio recordings, Mark Nepo is best known for his New York Times #1 bestseller, The Book of Awakening and his newest book –“The One Life We’re Given: Finding the Wisdom that Waits in Your Heart” — is due out in July. Diagnosed in his 30’s with a rare form of lymphoma, that struggle helped form his philosophy of experiencing life fully while staying in relationship to an unknowable future. As a cancer survivor, Nepo writes and teaches about the journey of inner transformation and the life of relationship:
One thing I keep learning over the years
is that when in pain or trouble,
we often plead with some larger force to
“Get me out of this,”
when life is prompting us to say,
“Show me the meaning in what I’ve been given,
so I can find my way through it.”
If blessed, we put down our stubbornness
and admit that we’re on the same journey.
Visit Mark Nepo’s website for more background on this gifted teacher, speaker and writer.
And then register here and join us Tuesday, April 5, 7:00 p.m. in the Forum at All Saints Church.
