Have an opinion on the Search for our New Bishop?

Here’s the chance to add your voice to the Search Process!

The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles is searching for a new bishop! Bishop Jon Bruno has announced his intention to retire in 2018 … and so the process of searching for his successor has begun. The Search Committee charged with bringing forward candidates to stand for election has created an online survey to continue the “listening process” that began earlier this summer with a series of meetings throughout the diocese.

The survey — available in English and Spanish — asks six questions that also were asked at the listening sessions:

1. Describe gifts, talents, and best practices your parish/mission/ministry brings to the diocese.

2. Describe issues, challenges, and struggles currently faced by your parish/mission/ministry.

3. List questions members of your parish/mission/ministry ask (or have asked) of diocesan leadership.

4. Describe gifts, talents, and best practices of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

5. Describe issues, challenges, and struggles currently facing the diocese.

6. List the qualities, characteristics, perspectives, and preferred experiences, sensitivities, talents, and skills you would like to see in the next bishop.

According to the Rev. Canon Julian Bull, chairman of the search committee, the survey is meant for those who were not able to attend a listening session. Comments made by those who did attend have already been noted, and do not need to be repeated, he said.

Please take a few minutes to add your voice to those around the diocese giving the Search Committee this important feedback as they prepare to bring us candidates for our new bishop. To take the survey follow one of these links: English | Spanish

[The survey will be open until the end of August.]
